Are you like me, guilty of spending too much money on hair care products that promise healthy, shiny locks instantly? While quality products definitely help to maintain the health of our hair, it needs to first start from the inside out.
Consider incorporating some of the foods below into your diet to address any specific hair issues you may be experiencing:
SPINIACH - Known to help thinning or hair loss which could be related to a lack of iron intake. (always check with your doctor if you are experiencing hair loss first). Eating a diet that includes spinach and other leafy greens like bok choy, and kale can be a rich source of iron and can increase the flow of oxygen and nutrients to your hair, roots and scalp.
GUAVA: Can help if you have broken or damaged hair caused by mistreatment, or over styling with excessive heat. Vitamin C is very effective in helping strengthen hair and also aids in the absorption of iron (which we already know is good for our hair). Since Guava contains high amounts of vitamin C and B complex (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, and pyridoxine) ingested it can help strength your hair.
AVOCADO: My favorite super fruit has all those healthy fats which work wonders to restore dull, lifeless hair. Consuming fats from avocados and oily fish like salmon, can help prevent your scalp from drying out. Other foods like walnuts, flax seeds, and eggs also support a gorgeous mane so eat up!
Remember always be kind and gentle to your crowning glory from the inside out for beautiful, healthy hair.
