Do you have a shower ritual or routine? I do and it's what helps my skin glow and hair shine.
I recently got reacquainted with body scrubs - not the kinds that smell like peaches and are super abrasive (I used those for years) but scrubs that are nontoxic, fragrance free and made with plant based ingredients.
They can really help maintain your skin's health and their cleansing and exfoliating powers can do wonders for your skin's overall well being.
WHY USE BODY SCRUBS?
Good question. Just like the skin cells on your the cells on your body regularly shed to reveal new, healthier skin underneath. That turnover process slows as we get older so to give it a nudge reach for a body scrub.
HOW DO I USE THEM PROPERLY?
Gently massage your scrub over your body in a circular motion to help slough off dead skin, boost circulation, and drain your lymph nodes by increasing blood flow to the skin's surface.
It is recommended to use scrubs 2-3 times per week depending on your skin type to be most effective. As a result of using a body scrub your after shower moisturizer or body oil will also thank you as they will work much effectively and leave skin softer and smoother for a longer time.
WHICH SCRUBS SHOULD I TRY?
I personally prefer smaller granules like sugar, salt or coffee that are easier on my skin and tend to brighten dull areas. They're also better for rough skin like your feet that benefit from a deep, but gentle exfoliation.
